The internet has already changed traditional businesses like finance, banking and insurance. If you look around at the companies today, you will see the answer to your question. New technologies will always be developed for this medium which is now as prevalent as the telephone. As a matter of fact the telephone fast becoming outdated, in my humble opinion : )
